In 2001, an advertising designer and a hardware engineer created the JazzMore website in their spare time. Though their professional backgrounds were very different, their shared love of jazz brought them together. They wanted to make jazz news more accessible to Chinese-speaking listeners.
At the time, Chinese-language jazz content online was scarce. News about overseas performances, album releases, and artists had to be pieced together from scattered sources. JazzMore was created to fill that gap by bringing jazz information together in one place: one founder led the visual design and editorial planning, while the other built the site’s technical foundation.
A few years later, the engineer moved on to other pursuits, and the designer continued running the site alone. Over more than two decades, JazzMore has grown from a personal website into a dedicated platform and undergone many redesigns and technical upgrades. Its central purpose has remained the same: to provide timely, useful information for jazz fans in Chinese-speaking communities.
Today, JazzMore is a Chinese-language jazz portal covering music news, live events, artist profiles, and album information, accompanying generations of jazz fans on their listening journeys.
