Zaccai Curtis Quartet in Hong Kong | December 1–2, 2026
Presented by Premiere Performances of Hong Kong in collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York, the Premiere Performances Jazz series brings pianist Zaccai Curtis and his quartet to Hong Kong on December 1 and 2, 2026 (Tuesday and Wednesday). Shows take place at 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM each evening, with different set lists and an approximate running time of 75 minutes without an intermission.
About Zaccai Curtis and Cubop Lives!
“Cubop” refers to a branch of Latin jazz that emerged when New York bebop met Afro-Cuban rhythms in the 1940s. Zaccai Curtis is known for his command of Latin rhythms and his arranging. His album Cubop Lives! spent four consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. JazzWeek radio chart and won the 2025 Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album. The Hong Kong performances center on the album and bring this less commonly heard jazz language to the Tea House Theatre.
